Troubleshooting R2 Max Freezing and Rebooting Issues

Dear Customer,

We've recently received feedback from several customers about their R2 Max experiencing freezing and rebooting issues. We've encountered similar issues in the Chinese market earlier. If you're experiencing similar problems, please try the following troubleshooting steps to identify any potential causes:

  1. Memory Brand and Capacity: Please specify the brand and capacity of the memory you're using. If it's a brand and capacity we haven't tested before, it might be the cause of instability and reboots. We've noticed that using large-capacity memory (32GB/48GB) from Crucial can sometimes lead to reboots or crashes. This is a known compatibility issue with the Intel Alder Lake-N processor. Currently, the only solution we've found is to replace the memory. We recommend using Samsung memory, as we haven't encountered any issues with that brand. For other brands, please conduct actual tests to confirm compatibility, and be especially cautious with counterfeit products.

  2. BIOS Update: Please try updating your BIOS to the latest version (v1.1), download it from dl.ikoolcore.com. If you already have v1.1, we recommend reflashing it, as we've recently optimized a minor bug in the BIOS without changing the version number.

  3. System Reinstallation and Testing: We suggest reinstalling Windows 10 or 11 and using AIDA64 to test for stability issues. If you encounter any hardware errors, try replacing the memory and hard drive to continue testing. The testing period can last 7-10 days with continuous full-load AIDA64 testing.
  4. Power Adapter (N305 and N355 Models): If you have the N305 or N355 processor model, we recommend testing with a more powerful power adapter(DC IN 12V 5A or 19V 6.32A). The standard power adapter might not provide enough power for the device when using large-capacity memory and SSDs, potentially causing unexpected freezes or reboots.
